The Debit Mastercard is a debit card. With a debit card, payments are debited from your account immediately. You can use the Debit Mastercard worldwide to make cashless payments at all Mastercard acceptance points and withdraw cash from ATMs – you can also pay in online shops.

Using the Debit Mastercard to make payments on the internet meets international standards and accordingly provides the highest possible level of security. 3D Secure (also known as the “Mastercard identity check”) is an authentication procedure that increases the security of online payments because a code must be entered to confirm the payment in addition to the card number, the expiration date, and the card verification code (CVC). This code is sent to your registered mobile phone number during the payment process and is only valid once. In this way, 3D Secure increases security for both you and the participating retailer. You are not liable for a potential financial loss in the event of misuse, provided that you have met your due diligence obligations.

The decision to request a payment confirmation (3D Secure) lies solely with the retailer. If the online shop does not carry out this additional confirmation, the card payment will be executed after you enter the card number, the expiration date, and the card verification code (CVC) as soon as you click on “Pay.” However, we recommend that you register for the 3D Secure process immediately after receiving your card so that you can make unrestricted use of your card on the platforms of all online retailers.

For security reasons, the contactless function is temporarily deactivated when the Debit Mastercard is dispatched. First, you need to make a transaction by inserting your debit card into a payment terminal or an ATM and entering the correct PIN. This automatically activates the contactless feature and allows you to make contactless payments.

Yes. For amounts over CHF 80, the payment terminal will prompt you to enter your PIN. You do not need to insert your Debit Mastercard into the payment terminal, however.
No PIN needs to be entered for amounts of less than CHF 80. For security reasons, however, you may have to enter your PIN from time to time even for transactions under CHF 80. You will always be prompted to enter your PIN for amounts over CHF 80.

At present, the Debit Mastercard can be used for Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay. You can easily add your Debit Mastercard to Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay via the .

1. Log in to the Credit Suisse mobile banking app
2. Navigate to "Cards" and choose "Debit Cards"
3. Select the Debit Mastercard that you wish to add
4. Tap the "Add to Apple Wallet" or "Add to GPay" or "Add to Samsung Pay” button

You can store your Debit Mastercard as a payment card with specific retailers by agreeing to your card being stored. To do so, please follow the instructions of the retailer concerned. For future purchases, you can pay without re-entering your card data. When your card expires, your card’s new expiration date is automatically communicated if the retailer supports the updating service.
