Shreyas’ story has all the traits of strong career growth. Curiosity, perseverance and solid goals. He joined us to explain a bit more about his journey.

Hi Shreyas. Can you tell us a bit about your background?
I’m a chartered accountant and company secretary by profession. I’ve previously worked in risk advisory and internal audit, too.

What have you worked on since joining us here?
I joined in August 2014, in Contract Management and Governance. I was the third employee to be hired in the whole of the India business solutions center! I was responsible for third party risk assessments, using a risk and control based framework for all external vendors. I got to take on challenging assignments and help vendors with the learning curve that comes with compliance topics.

After working in three different teams within four years, I moved to Group Corporate Services Audit. I always wanted to develop my career in internal audit and carve a niche for myself.

What motivated you to seek out these opportunities?
The hunger to learn new things and to use my expertise in a way that benefits the organization and myself. I could only do this because of our employee-friendly internal mobility system. It encourages and helps you to fulfill your aspirations within the company.

What did you learn in each of your roles that helped you grow?
Each role helped me to understand that difficult times can be overcome with determination and dedication towards your work. Perseverance, plus guidance from senior management, can provide vital shape and sheen to your professional career, ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ provides you with this.

What are your career goals going forward?
I want to see myself as an expert in areas such as third party risk management, outsourcing, and regulatory compliance. I’m currently pursuing a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) examination to get a global accreditation in auditing. I’ve joined a toastmasters club in Mumbai, too. This will help me to develop my business network and become a better leader.

Working here also enables me to participate in different workshops and industry summits to sharpen my skills and stay up to date with all the latest developments happening in the internal audit world.
