۶Ƶ Lobby

Geneva-born John Armleder, whose influential career spans over forty years, is regarded as one of Switzerland’s leading contemporary artists. His distinctive artistic practice, ranging from sculptures and paintings, to film and curating, continuously bridges the gap between fine art and popular culture.

‘Agenda’, 2018, is part of Armleder’s ongoing series of ‘Pour Paintings’. The multi-colored layers of paint are applied freely and have an inherent energy. The carefully selected, but seemingly random color combinations are dissonant and harmonious at the same time. Armleder’s use of glitter echoes the gilded elements in the ornate Alte Schalterhalle (the historic counter area) at Bahnhofstrasse 45 in Zurich. This colorful and dynamic work by the internationally acclaimed Swiss artist offers a striking first impression of the recently refurbished ۶Ƶ headquarters. It represents the essence of the ۶Ƶ Art Collection by fusing Swiss heritage with contemporary art practice.
