Discontinuation of the Swiss direct debit system by SIX

SIX has decided to discontinue the two direct debit procedures LSV+ (collection with objection) and BDD (collection without objection) as of 30 September 2028. You can continue to use both LSV+ and BDD as normal until then. For the time being, nothing will change for our billers or for invoice recipients.

�۶��Ƶ Direct Debit provides you with the ideal follow-on solution for collecting payments from clients with a �۶��Ƶ or Credit Suisse debit account. This enables you to use the familiar direct debit procedure even after 30 September 2028.

What does this mean for me as a client?

For the time being, nothing will change for you as an LSV+/BDD biller or invoice recipient. You can continue to use LSV+/BDD as usual until 30 September 2028. You don’t need to do anything right now.

As an alternative, you can already send eBill invoices with �۶��Ƶ Digital Invoicing or use the QR-bill for invoicing. To make your invoicing process even more efficient in future, we are currently working on further LSV+/BDD alternatives and offers.

Is there an alternative solution for LSV?

For direct debits from payers without a �۶��Ƶ or Credit Suisse debit account for which �۶��Ƶ Direct Debit cannot be used, we offer the following alternative solutions to payees:

We offer the SEPA direct debit system for direct debits in euros in Switzerland. For SEPA direct debits, the payer’s bank must also support the system.

What’s the timetable for the discontinuation by SIX?

SIX BBS AG announced that it would be discontinuing its “LSV – Swiss direct debit system (LSV+/BDD)” product in its entirety at the end of September 2028. Specifically, this means:

LSV+ (collection with objection) will be discontinued.
BDD (collection without objection; for companies) will be discontinued.
From 2026, new clients can no longer be activated as payees (also known as billers).

Note: The SIX timetable will not affect direct debits from payers with a �۶��Ƶ or Credit Suisse debit account, as we will continue to run LSV+/BDD under the name �۶��Ƶ Direct Debit, unchanged.
